INTRODUCTION
New Passport Office at Malappuram was inaugurated by , Hon. Minister of State for External affairs, Shri. E. Ahamed on 28th August 2006. This is the 31st Passport Office of India.

OFFICE TIMINGS
PASSPORT OFFICE IS OPEN FROM MONDAY TO FRIDAY. APPLICATIONS CAN BE SUBMITTED ACROSS THE COUNTER FROM 9.00 A.M TO 12.30 NOON. APPOINTMENT TO MEET THE OFFICERS WILL BE GIVEN FROM 9.30 A.M TO 12 NOON IN THE ENQUIRY COUNTER EXCEPT WEDNESDAY (NO ENQUIRY ON WEDNESDAYS). DELIVERY OF PASSPORTS IN CASE OF PROMISED CASES WILL BE FROM 3.00 P.M TO 5 P.M.

JURISDICTION
It consist of two revenue districts viz. Malappuram and Palaghat bifurcated from the Passport office of Kozhikode. These two districts have a majority of NRI population in Kerala.

WHERE TO APPLY
One can apply on-line OR can submit the application form at Passport Office Malappuram OR at Superintendent of Police/DCP office of the district (DPC) OR at Speed Post Centre of the city.District Passport Cells (DPCs) attached to the Offices of the District Superintendents of Police are aimed at achieving greater efficiencies in the police verification process, as it is organized directly by the DPCs and the applications are forwarded to PO Malappuram along with the police reports.
